  • Uh, thanks ... but ...

Just found that a cousin sent me an email about 24 hours ago wishing me a happy birthday.

However ... my birthday is still two weeks away.

Question: do I correct her or just say "Thanks" and laugh to myself?

Correct her, but gently and mercifully.

See if you can persuade her that you have two (like the king) and that presents are statutorily mandated.

I agree with Kittish. Not rudely calling out your cousin and making it clear that you appreciate the gesture.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

This is definitely my favourite answer, LOL.
By the time I answered her, my birthday (the real one) was a week past, so I got to apologize to HER for being late.

Thank you, Ironclad Alibi. As usual, I took my second vacation week to cover my birthday, so got to split my time between housecleaning (which my apartment still desperately needs) and just lounging around.
