  • Moving to another country

4 years ago, I moved from Victoria, Australia to here in Japan - in a few months time, once my contract is completed, i am moving to Queensland to pursue my PhD and for serious medical reasons.

It is getting hard to keep focus on my daily duties, but it is becoming very hard to be abl to say goodbye to my colleagues and students (I teach physics and math in an international school).

Does anyone have any advice s to how I could refocus and concentrate on my teaching and studies?

Hm. Analyse what is distracting you - the thought of Queensland beaches and rainforest? Moving plans? Concern about your new position?

Spend some time organising your thoughts about that distraction, and organising a to-do list.

Anything that you NEED to do on that to-do list, schedule times to do it.

That will help you put those thoughts away. When they pop up, remind yourself it's already on the list, you don't need to think about it now.
    Seshat's self-help guide:
    1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.
