I would think they will take anything in good condition. If you needed the straps altered, there's probably a girl out there in the same situation.

I found a local group because I knew I would never wear a one shouldered dark purple floor length dress that cost far too much and reminded me of bridezilla. It's fairly flattering on my larger figure, so I'm hoping it makes some larger girl feel pretty.

Oh man. I know this story. My dad is almost what I'd call miserly. Given how we lived when I was a kid, I wouldn't have known how much money the family business was raking in. He squirreled it all away. My mom is almost the opposite, she has the opinion that money is there to be used, and she'd rather use it and acquire manageable debt than hide the money and live without things you want. (I imagine you can tell that they've split up. )

I moved in with my then-boyfriend and now-fiance and we both had to get rid of a lot of stuff. We're still finding stuff we don't want, two years after we moved in together. My criteria has become pretty simple -- if I haven't used it in a long time, it goes. If it's a book that I don't really want to read again, it goes. If it's a shirt that I haven't worn in a year, it goes. If it's an odd sock or underwear that doesn't fit it goes into the rag bag to polish furniture. If it's something collectible/pretty but not useful, I just pick my favourites and make sure they can be stored/displayed such that they're not in anyone's way, and get rid of the rest.

We have a few big things that are not points of contention yet... but maybe I'll tell him that if he gets rid of the rowing machine or starts using it or stashes it somewhere out of the way, I'll get rid of the old G3 iMac that I've been meaning to repair and turn into a retro gaming rig. We live in an apartment and space is at a premium, so this stuff is important.
