I was a member of curves & I liked their program, but I eventually had to quit because of issues with my back & after working out I couldn't move - I liked that it was only 30 minutes & I liked that it was only women & they keep the windows blocked out so people can't stare through & watch you work out. The one I went to my only issue I ever really had was it was outside a **gated** community & a lot of the women who went there thought they were too good to speak to other people who were not in their little click - but whatever - I wasn't there for them

Curves was my first gym and I enjoyed it. I ended up changing to a diffrent all women gym that had more than a circuit because I was bored and wanted to change up my workout. However I was at curves for over a year first.

It can get a little boring after a while, but it has the virtue of being simple.

that's why i'm a little worried. i have a tendency to get de-motivated about 4 months in. but they claim they have this new "curve-smart" system that keeps ya motivated. i dunno. i'll have to go and pester them with annoying questions. woo.

I was a member for a short while. I'm definitely NOT a fan.

The workout isn't what I would call a real workout. It's all low impact, which is nice but doesn't yield the results I want. I was also stuck listening to music that... was not my style.

So I started going to the gym on campus. I would up going every day; as much as 5 days a week. For Free. Curves wanted to charge me.

            Pay money -- No motivation.
            Free -- motivation.

Huh. I can't explain it. Must be because I have a workout buddy (My male friend Jacket) or because the campus gym has far superior equipment. I don't know.

I was a member of Curves for a few years, and definitely enjoyed it......ufortunately I had to drop my membership when I started working at Macy's. (between my schedule there and what the library hours were at the time, I had little opportunity to visit Curves when it was open)

I tried it but I didn't notice it helped me lose weight, and the it was expensive. I paid $48/month, and they didn't even have a shower or changing room, just a little bathroom. My bf paid $50/month for a gym that had everything Curves had plus basketball courts, tennis/squash courts, pool, sauna, and showers. If you want to work out, look at the gyms around you and you'll probably get a much better deal.

I'm a member of 24 Hour Fitness. I looked at Curves when I was looking at gyms, and found that it was more expensive and didn't have the variety that I was looking for. I like having different weight machines (whatever they're called!) as well as free weights, and I love having the choice between swimming and elliptical. It keeps me from getting bored.

Curves was a place I considered before joining the athletic club.

The althletic club offered a better corporate discount for me (from my work), and their gym is enormous and their amenities are suited for everyone of any age or physical shape.

It may be more spendy, but I enjoy going to a huge gym knowing I don't have to wait for a machine.
