  • New job in a new state

I moved way down south from VA and I would like to get a job as soon as I can. I've only been here for literally a couple days. Should I get better used to the area before finding a job or should I just plunge headfirst and ask questions later? The boyfriend doesn't mind me relaxing a bit before finding one but I quite enjoy making my own money so I don't have to depend on others. That's how my mother raised me. Any advice? This is my first time away from the nest for longer than a week.

Work on finding a job now. In my experience, it takes a few weeks to get hired and get the paperwork completed before you get to start working. Plus, you can get to know the area by driving around, dropping off applications.

If you manage to get a job quickly, you can always tell them you aren't available for a week or so.

        Agreed with Anima and TPM.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!
