  • Canon Repair?

*Not sure this should be here, seemed like the likely place.

My hubby has a Canon 40D DSLR. Last night he was taking pictures at the Sounders game and all the sudden the shutter stopped working it is going about halfway up it looks like. Looks like it is off its track. Now he thinks this has taken approx. half a million pictures since we got it (maybe 06)

My question is, has anyone ever had a camera fixed by Canon or should we find a local shop? Also any idea on price to get it fixed?

    Thanks guys!

I did too. I thought you had mis-spelled "Cannon," and was thinking..."Well, depending on what needs to be fixed..." There is a wheelwright down in Gonzales, TX and wheels are about $1000 each, drop-shipped. We found a guy out in New Sweden that shaped a new trail (the body of the gun) out of white oak, and that was about $1000, but DH had to drill all the holes himself using a brace and bit, and I'd have NO idea where to find a barrel...
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.
