    Good for you.

Go as often (or as rarely) as you are comfortable with. Obviously, those of us who can't give blood but want to would love you to go for us! (ie, as often as you safely can. )

But it's YOUR body, and YOUR blood. Do what is right for you.
    Seshat's self-help guide:
    1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

"All I want is a pretty girl, a decent meal, and the right to shoot lightning at fools." - Anders, Dragon Age.

Going tonight as they are doing an "around the clock" donation if I didn't mention it before. i was told i have to wait 6 weeks between each donation unless its platelets. yeah sorry, its one thing to give blood, FORGET hooking me up to the platelet centrifuge heeellllll naw.
(I tried once, they missed the vein and had to try again and I'm like NO! going now!)
It doesn't help I just finished watching Blood Plus the anime series...why why did i have to do that?
Yeah so nervous now. eating a normal sized healthy dinner before going cause I know i will need it. hope that doesn't cause me to want to throw up.
Will try not to be such a pain to the nurses there either

Agreed. What's the problem if there are goodies? It was the blood bank that offered them--it's not like you're acting as a prima donna and making the free eats a precondition.
Absolutely. In fact, the blood center wants you to have a cookie after you donate; they practically insist on it! They don't want you feeling faint from the blood loss. So don't feel bad about it.

I should donate soon, as I'm Type O-. I'll look up the info on local blood banks in a bit.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

          I don't think it's wrong.

Besides adding a donation to my purchase at Petsmart and giving change to all those Humane Association jugs at local restaurants, I ONLY donate to other types of charities when there's something in it for me. Big deal if people don't like that, right? Meh.

Speaking of which, I've been trying to figure out a way to donate blood working this awful new schedule.

Hello all...Just heard from Midnight a little while ago. She is doing well after donating...a little loopy perhaps, but also full of cookies. Just passing along a message that she's doing well and is off to sleep!

She says thanks for all the support!

Had to make room for the cupcake!

My BF gets summoned to blood drives because I guess he has a desirable blood type. I couldn't go, personally...I faint pretty easily when I have even a little tiny bit of blood drawn, and I don't feel like blacking out and/or faceplanting for a cookie.

I was told I looked like I was kissed by death itself following a draw of 10 test vials many years ago...out cold, white as a sheet and my lips turned grey. I was pumped full of juice and cookies when I came to, but did I ever feel like shit. So now no taking things out of my veins unless it's absolutely necessary.
