Cat spraying help?

Such a cute kitty. <3 I hope you can get them some help. This situation isn't fair to anyone, least of all the cats since they have no say or choice in the matter. I'm glad you are trying to help.

Thanks. The cats are doing alright now that they have clean boxes, but Radar's still spraying the kitchen. Sal's back isn't bothering him as much now that I've used the shedding brush on him, but he's still getting twitchy and annoyed at it. Grandma says they'll take the cats in next month when they have more money, but I doubt it will happen. I'm not sure what to do at this point, other than hubby and I will try to set aside some money to take them ourselves.

SOMEWHERE in the kitchen, probably in the area he's spraying, Radar is smelling Sal's urine. He's trying to take the territory as his. It's the food source.

If you can manage to do a thorough kitchen clean, it will help.

Once you've cleaned the floor, get down on it and look at the kitchen from a cat's-eye view. You'll discover surfaces you may not have cleaned before. Then look at it from the view of a squirt bottle at the height of a cat's butt. Yeah, you need to clean the underside of the doors.

If a thorough cleaning with regular cleaning mixes doesn't fix the problem, save up a little money, go to the vet's office, explain the problem and what you've done so far, and they'll probably sell you a urine neutraliser. It gets into porous surfaces (and believe it or not, tile grout IS porous) and chemically changes the urine residue to a neutral substance.
