Honey, you have already made your mind up so good luck with the new Mustang, try to avoid getting too many speeding tickets. If you look deep down in your heart you'll find you are here to look for arguments to use on mom. A man who worked with explosives in a war zone over 80 hours a week for a year knows his own mind and has earned the right to make his own decisions regardless of anyone elses's opinion. Thank you for your service.

Yea, my mom didn't like that decision of mine for applying for that job either. Only took about three weeks of fighting for her to kinda get used to the idea.

And I ordered it. Deep Impact Blue.

Mustangs are nice. I would love to have one (I REALLY want the 2014. 662 HP, 200 MPH. Can't afford the lawyer that I would have to keep on retainer ).
662 HP? There's no excuse for a car to have that much power. It's more than both of my vehicles put together - and one of them is the Peterbilt of Natural Selection. When the aluminum meets the road (I know the original cliche has rubber meeting the road, but the weight of the trailer would blow out that car's tires), that Mustang couldn't even get a 53 foot dry van (empty) moving.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

True, but it will do 200MPH. Will your Peterbilt?

A car like that is not about excuses or practicality, it's about fun. It's a toy as much as it is transportation.

And Mustangs (and similar cars) are not designed to haul. They are designed to haul ass.

Ooooh. Spotted a car in deep impact blue just the other day and thought it was one of the most gorgeous blues we've ever seen on a car.

I don't care for Fords, much, but their colors are some of the best on the road.

I don't care for most Fords either but just can't hate on a Mustang.

That is what we call a "Gateway". It won't be long until you are jonesing for an FE or a Powerstroke and discussing the pros and cons of Windsor vs. Cleavland. We'll know we have you when you want to watch Carl Edward do a back flip.

I can hate on a Mustang.

I got a bright red convertible Mustang as a rental replacement when the guy in the Explorer (another Ford >_< ) creamed my poor Volvo. The thing was heavy, had crap for power, and handled like a beached whale. The thing sucked ass.

But Enterprise came and took it away and left a lovely Mazda in it's place that was an improvement in pretty much every single way. The only thing I missed was the convertible part.

I've saved up a fair chunk of change ($75,000). I have no debt. I live at my parents house for the moment so I have no rent to pay. I just pay for my cell phone, gas, and car insurance.

I graduated college in August 2010. Signed up for a contracting job and spent a full year in Afghanistan working on explosives 84 hours a week. With the money I made from that job, I paid off my student loans and got to travel around the world.

Well, once I got back, I was jobless so there was no point in getting an apartment in case I got a job somewhere else. Then I'd be stuck on a lease for a place I couldn't live in.

I can *USE* my full horsepower for 10 minutes at a stretch without risking a speeding ticket (uphill with a full load). He doesn't have enough cooling system capacity to dissipate the waste heat generated at full power for an extended period of time. Are his tires rated to be able to handle the top speed of his vehicle? Mine are rated to handle the top speed of my truck. On a highway with average quality pavement, I can run at top speed and keep it under control. Can he, or would he wind up in the ditch?

A *REAL* Mustang has over 1000 HP, can do over 400 MPH, and never saw the inside of a Ford factory. The one he bought is just a poser.

Most people don't realize that the Ford Mustang was named after the "*REAL* Mustang" and not the horse.
