I've started my own stuff, since I live in a place with weak-ass sunlight. I pop vitamin D pills, and when I remember, I take Triple Omega (Naturemade). Works for me, I can't see too much of a change right now. It's summer, so the Vitamin D isn't so profound.
I also take some probiotics, but that's for a specific girl thing. I take too many pills as is.

      Well, it can't hurt.
Actually, some supplements can. (Plus the obvious one - fish oil is bad for people allergic to fish.)

However, fireheart, if you buy at least your first set in a pharmacy and discuss it with your pharmacist; taking your list of any other medications & supplements you use with you; then I'd say go for it.

      1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
      2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
      3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
      4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

It's worth noting that Vitamin C tends to interfere with Vitamin D. I can't remember the specific connection, but I thought it made sense, what with most C-bearing foods being available during the height of summer.

I can't speak for the fish oil; I've never taken it myself. From personal experience, though, I can say that vitamin B complex seems to augment energy and lift mood. It doesn't fix everything, but it does seem to help.

Oh, and bonus? One of the B vitamins makes you smell yucky to mosquitos.

Another option for Omega 3 is flaxseed oil capsules.

I take Vitamin D; I had my levels tested and was a little low so my doctor recommended supplements. Other than that I take flaxseed and a multivitamin, but I'm not as consistent as I should be so I can't really say if they make a difference or not. I'm trying to eat better, though. Ideally I'd rather get my nutrients from food.
