    I work in a hardware store as a part-time Service Desk/Supervisor. The pay is minimum wage, the customers terrible, upper management stunned as a brick, and nothing gets fixed (there's been a leak over one of the desk cashes for at least 3 years).

    Why stay there? Co-workers are awesome, scheduling around whatever you do, and the discount. Paying warehouse price on ANY building material (includes power tools, home decor items like blinds and curtains, snow-blowers etc) just rocks. Especially when you're in the process of lengthy renovations.

    Expect a lot of posts from me, as I deal with the stupidest customers in this city.

      ya know, the coworkers are what kept me at the bookstore for so long, too... sometimes they're the only thing worth going to work for..
