  • Hi!

Well, I'm new! Some of you may have met me on other incarnations of Customers Suck, and others will be experiencing the oddity that is me for the first time.

My name's Moxis (or Mox, or Moxi, or Mo, if you're too lazy to find that "-xis"), and I'm an American resident of Monteforte, Italy. (In other words, no, I'm not Italian. I barely speak the language. Italians pity me.)

I'm currently unemployed (I prefer the job title "Domestic Specialist/Starving Artist" to "Homemaker/Student", thanks much), but I have a plethora of sucks from previous administrations, including a theme park, Subway, an office, a daycare, and a pizza joint or two.

I'm 24 in two weeks, married, am currently enrolled in college at the University of Maryland Europe Campus, where I'm studying Marine Biology (when related classes are available, anyway), and working towards becoming a PADI Divemaster.

I'm witness to many, many sucks.

And that's my life story. Can't wait to play along!

So are you in Italy through the school program, or are you in the school program because you are in Italy for other reasons? Either way, I'm jealous. I wanna go too! <pouts>

and an early to you, too!

I'm in Italy because my husband is assigned here as a contractor for the Department of Defense. I'm in the school program so I can do something productive with my time, as I can't legally work here without jumping through hoops and slicing through a lot of red tape.

And believe me, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Italy's FABULOUS to visit, but living here is very difficult. XD You get drawn into the social and political problems after a while.

But you should definitely visit it if you ever get the chance. It's an amazing place!

      And thanks!!

I'd love to visit. If I looked hard enough, I'd probably be able to find some family in Sicily...and there is a town (not sure where and I won't say the name) that bears my last name.

I suppose wherever you live has it's issues, though...

My roommate's friend's husband works for the government, too; they just moved to Africa for 2 years, just 2 months after their first baby was born. (Previously they spent 2 years in Paris, and had been in Virginia in between.
