Greetings from currently snowy Wet West Yorkshire in the UK.
I've been lurking for sometime [i.e. Have read every thread in Sucky Customers, Sightings & Unsupportable and have rummaged through war stories and a selection of pretty much everything else] and decided it was uncouth not to register and throw my tuppeny-worth in from time to time. So, how do
I've been working for the same UK telecomms provider for the last [eek ] 14 years, in a technical role, but you can only install so many telephone exchanges before they decide they have enough of those now, and that you need to speak to "Customers" and "End Users" and fix their problems with using various services.
This is not one of my favourite pastimes for two reasons.
1) Customers pay my company peanuts in rental and want truffle quality repair.
2) Customers tell their End Users that all faults they experience are because of my company even if the fault is on the Customers or End Users own equipment. [ 9/10 when doing repairs]
I cope by becoming increasingly polite, sweet natured and pleasant. My Boss recognises this as a warning sign and shuffles her chair off to one side.
I read a lot of SciFi/Fantasy, Listen to Metal and a little punk, dye my hair in various rainbow shades [ currently a mix of purple and turquoise] and am addicted to shiny shiny gadgets. I dislike chart music and reality TV. I get enough reality at home and work and don't feel inclined to wallow in anyone elses.
Also, I ramble. I'm pretty sure this was supposed to be a short " hullo ", but I got sidetracked.
