Hi there!
I'm a postgrad student from Cape Town, South Africa. In the past I've worked tech support (both at the university and freelance) and now I'm a Teaching Assistant for some undergrad courses. This TA gig is quite nice, because it's an environment in which the "customer" is emphatically not always right, and I'm not required to be "nice" to them all the time. On the other hand, as many of you probably know, the student population seems to have a particularly high proportion of SCs.
I've also done private tutoring (in maths) for high school students, and, let me just say, there are very few people as entitled as parents who are paying quite large amounts per hour for their "little darlings" to get some extra help passing their exams - but more of that later.
