Hey everyone!
I stumbled upon this site last night and I figured, since most of my time spent at work involves laughing/banging my head on my desk due to stupid customers, this is perfect!
For a little background, I currently work at an inbound call center for a really large company. My job used to consist of being bombarded with calls that were mostly about customers' bills for the junky merchandise we sell, service issues for said junky merchandise, magazine subscriptions, and the most awful one of all... sweepstakes questions. Now keep in mind that our customer base is mostly seniors, so on top of being crazy and having outrageous concerns, none of them can hear/understand you. Sounds straightforward enough, but I'll save my stories for another post.
Now, I've been "promoted" to doing online support for the same company's website. The job itself is generally easier and slower, but what do you think happens when you put those same crazy seniors in front of a computer? That's right, more insanity!
Before that, I worked at a deli. Which, again, sounds really basic, but the customers were complete whackos. Things like having packages of meat thrown in your direction, and customers referring to chicken breast as "chicken boob" and thinking it was funny, were all part of the daily thrill of the deli.
That's enough for now though, I'm just excited to have somewhere to read/share funny stories with other customer service slaves! Yay!
