I finally registered after lurking for the last few weeks because I just had to respond to someone else's post. Happily, it was about how best to send a letter praising customer service and not about sucky customers...
I am an escapee of a certain Big Name Bookseller, where I worked for almost 9 years in 2 different stores. I've been Head Cashier and Fiction Lead, Kids Department (lemme out! lemme out!!) and New Release Queen (sure I can completely switch over 3 tables and 2 stepladder displays in the 2 hours before the store opens).... Alas, I haven't yet escaped from the company; now I work as a corporate drone
but at least I have no customers to deal with. In fact, my phone almost never rings!
But nearly 9 years on the front lines makes for a lot of stories (some of which I think I've already seen on here, hmmm....)!
