  • Ever wonder about childrens restraunts?

Howdy all!! I'm new here, so i've got a bit of pent up anger....
I work at a childrens entertainment restraunt. I won't mention which one, but I'm sure you all can guess. Each morning I set up everything, wait for my high school aged employees to show up, and then baby sit them all day. Why is it that the only kids that apply at my store are the ones that don't need the money, and thus don't care if they get fired? It's like all the smart ones ran away... wait... maybe that's why they are called the smart ones... Anywho.... just think... it's those irresponsible kids and one really pissed manager that make all your food, disenfect those games, and make sure that 35min looping soundtrack doen't blow up in the ancient equipment that corporate says is just fine. So when an unbooked party of 55 pre-schoolers show up at 9:05 (we open at 9), please understand that I'm gonna be pissed. I'm understaffed, over worked, and if they are going to stand there and complain about the fact that I won't accept a check ( which we have not done in almost 10 years) and i wont give her the promotional price that is reserved for people that book their parties atleast 2 days in advance... I'm not going to be nice, and I'm going to do everything in my power to be polite, while still making her look like an idiot... and after 3 years of managing that place, I would say I'm getting really good at that....

Ouch! Sounds like this place my little sister worked at for her first job. It involved a certain mascot and the slogan where kids can be kids type of deal. Welcome to !

My sympathies. "Planning ahead" does seem to be going out of style, doesn't it?

I couldn't work where you work. I like kids, but in small amounts, and preferably not screeching at the tops of their lungs.

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
