Hi. I'm a lurker of many years, finally registering. I was in the irc chat yesterday, and this place sounded like fun. I'm not employed currently, so I hope that doesn't harm my chances of being a member here.

Hi, and welcome. I got laid off two Februaries ago, so I hope not.

Oh? What kind of job was it? I was in retail.

I had a string of jobs over the years, some retail, some not. I'm a graphic artist, but you work where you can (a lot of my stories are from the two stints I did at Kinko's, as you can probably figure out from my screen name). The last five or so years I worked for ImeTay ArnerWay AbleCay as their graphic designer until they started getting all their creative from corporate, and laid me off (and shortly therafter, my boss as well).

Not looking for a job now, I'm a full time mom and hausefrau. I do a bunch of stuff on the side. It's working for me. People ask me what I'm doing now and I say "laundry."

What kind of work did you do?

cashiering, floor associate, sizing...all the regular grunt-work. Oh, and I counted down tills every now and then.
