Hi all ... another new member who's been reading the stories on here for years and finally decided to join up. Was in journalism for two decades, laid off, am back in school to retrain for a new profession and am working in minimum-wage jobs (i.e. customer service) to help pay my way through.

I'm actually looking forward to getting into a new line of work -- although my mother has me accurately pegged: she said if ever I win the lottery, I will become a perpetual student.
The only thing worse than family that doesn't understand you is family that understands you all too well.
