Have been reading the forums for a while now after going through all the archives of notalwaysright. I've had the misfortune to be stuck with hospitality and retail jobs since the tender age of 15 and have witnessed amusing stupidity, exasperating rudeness and everything in-between. I just finished up with a job that was excessively strict on its employees (with dress standards, behavior on the shop floor etc), and tried to offer 'premium' service to a customer base that just... didn't know what to do with it, frankly, so hopefully I'll be able to contribute some stories that are funny now, even if I wanted to headdesk at the time.
I'm now working in a much smaller, friendlier shop that I hope will allow me to get through my last 2 semesters of university without wanting to rip my hair out or throw something heavy at a potential customer.
