    Hi everyone,

Having read this forum more or less actively for years (literally!), I finally decided to register. The stories I've read here have made me a far less sucky customer than I used to be; even though I used to work in retail back in late 80's I never really grasped the big picture - I was fairly young back then and more or less expected to be treated as a kid, but this site has been a real eye-opener.

I'm a 35 year old guy, officially an architect. I live in Finland, near Helsinki, spent quite a lot of time in the US during last 12 years both on work related projects and as a tourist. Currently I run a smallish import company selling design furniture, mainly wholesale, but I'm planning to open a retail outlet in the near future. In a weird way I'm looking forward to it, being back in retail but this time as the manager/owner, without needing to pay attention to unreasonable corporate policies. A lot of stories I've read here give me flashbacks, deja-vu, or whatever you prefer to call it when you know you've seen quite a few of the stereotypical customers and things they do, both good and bad, and when someone describes these incidents in great detail.

    Fantastic.

Someone else from Finland? I'm sure we've got someone else from there as well. Can't remember who it is, though.

Actually, the search function brings up Kebable. Darn, but I'm good!

    Welcome aboard!

      Great posts so far.

I look forward to reading more.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.
