Very long time lurker. I'm unemployed because of a disability. But this site keeps me from being too depressed about it. lol.
Even though I've never worked in the service industry, I still have much respect for those that do.
Too often it's the lowest wage workers that get handed the hardest work.
I hope to fit into this forum even so.

Although the biggest hunk of CS is certainly SCs, I always have a different thought in the back of my head for the acronym: Common Sense. These forums have the largest aggregate of people with a good dollop of horse sense of any I'm on, and that includes quite a few tech and literary sites. It's just plain refreshing and occasionally heartening to know that there IS a place where wishful, entitled thinking is viewed as the aberration it is, rather than the norm.

And of course, not being in retail doesn't deny you the "pleasures" of seeing SCs in action; there's Sightings, and Roadkill, and Brainburps, and Sickbay. . .

So if you've got the sense to come in out of the rain, and the brains to not try and bug someone and demand they do something about it (Recent Example) then you'll fit in just fine.
