I've been absent for a while, due to the fact I wasn't working, and didn't think I'd ever go back to retail. Ever. But after two failed attempts at taking my CNA skills test, and no Phlebotomy positions being offered to me, I've gone skulking back to my old store. The one that fired me in 2006
Said store used to have a mascot that looked a lot like this:
and is currently undergoing a company-wide remodel. For as much as I got a feeling of impending doom and gloom while being rushed through my interviews in a single day last week ("Aww, crap, they're really going to re-hire me!"), I'm thrilled to find that since I was hired on as a temp, for now, on setup/remodel/stock, that I am actually really happy compared to when I was a register slave. I wish I could have just switched to stock three years ago instead of leaving.
Hopefully/not hopefully, I'll have tales from my remodel adventures. People don't like it very much when you pick up an entire department and move it to a completely different location in the store
