  • It's funny when it's not me

Get to the job this morning, get the air compressor out of the back of the truck. It's covered in snow and ice from the drive. Me coworker is trying to wipe the ice off with his sleeve, blow the snow off like a birthday candle, and clear the machine so he can start it. Getting frustrated he turns to me and snaps 'Can you get me the air compressor, I'll just blow all this off!'

I may have laughed at him, a lot. I also may have done things very much like this myself from time to time.
Pain and suffering are inevitable...misery is optional.

Just tap into the brake line and clean the crud off using brake fluid. Works for me.

If you're carrying enough spare brake fluid to refill the brake lines, why not use it from the bottle?

I think wolfie's main/work vehicle would have air brakes ( and 18 wheels).

Bingo! My "brake fluid" is compressed air (I've joked about having a tire pump so heavy it needs to be mounted on a self-propelled chassis). I set the trailer brakes, disconnect the red (supply air/release parking brakes) air line from the trailer, connect whatever I need to use, and "release the trailer brakes" (re-pressurizes the line, so the accessory I'm using has a compressed air feed).
