Sounds like my mom's family. Her eldest sister was 19 years older than her and her oldest child was a year older than my Mom. The younger two IIRC, the middle one is the same age and the younger one was a couple of years younger.

The "Whut" part comes from the fact that the kid in question is in KINDERGARTEN. His sibling is 14.

In this scenario, the kid was basically making a massive-ass round trip to pick his brother up. My guess was that Older Brother attended one of two high schools in the local area that he could attend (there's 2 all-boys schools in the area) and one is a good 15 minutes away, the other is a good 30 minutes away. He apparently lives somewhere in between.

(We have a weird suburb: an infants school (K-2), a public primary school (K-6), 1 or 2 private schools (K-6), 2 all-boys high schools (1 public, 1 private, 7-12) and 1 all-girls high school (7-12))
