  • Not even the right state

So, this is a short onew just relayed to me by a co-worker, person calls our tech support line for help with their Internet services. Howver, the customer is calling from NY state, and our company doesn't service that state at all. Then the customer drops this piece of information, their provider for some reason won't help them, so they decided to call another company for help.

I don't understand. They thought calling a totally different company would give them the help they needed?
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

I question using the word "thought".

And apparently, when my co-worker advised them we are not the people they needed to call, the customer still pestered them trying to get support.

You lost a good customer there.

I wish I could count the number of "customers" who come into my store and want me to troubleshoot other phone companies' devices...alas, the number is too high to keep track.

I'll gladly troubleshoot other telco customers. They have to pay, and I'll most likely sort it out. I actually have spoken to him local stores and they will actively send their customers to me so they don't have to deal with something they won't make money on.
