    People who don't know how to order a sub.

    you ever get caught behind one of these? I've only seen it couple times myself but my god does it kill brain cells.

    "What size of sandwich do you want?" "what do you mean?" "what size 6" or foot long?" "I don't know sandwich size." *throws up hands*

    Basically acting like this throughout the whole conversation. it's not even a matter of not having been to a sub shop before it's a matter of shutting your brain down and not listening. It's excruciating to watch though.
    Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
    Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.

    Haven't been in a sub shop in a while, but I swear I encountered the following every time.

    Go into shop, see only one person ordering. Yay! Then I get closer and realize that he's trying to order 6-7 sandwiches. *sigh* He can't remember what kind of bread. Finally, when that life altering decision has been made, an employee asks him a question! A simple one like, do you want this toasted? Yet another decision which will affect this person for the rest. of. his. life. This is repeated for nearly every part of the sandwich making process.
    Replace anger management with stupidity management.

        It's simultaneously both better and worse at po-boy shops, as they normally just use the literal number of inches: 6/9/12/15 inches. So...nothing to explain, but more choices, so they take twice as long to actually decide.

          I once heard a customer in front of me at Subway ask, "What's the difference between ham and turkey?" so I believe this completely.

            I THINK, at Subway, there is a flavoring difference, but not an actual source of meat difference, because I think all their meats are actually turkey. Not positive, but I think this is so.

              Minflick -- Good question. I did a little digging. The pork-based sliced meats like ham are turkey-based for locations that are specifically halal. None of those exist in the US, AFAIK, but there are a bunch in the ME, UK, and the Eurozone. Their meatballs are already pork-free, and the "chunky" meats like chicken and beef are the real thing.

                I think their cold cuts are all turkey based in my neck of the woods. So your Italian cold cut sub? All turkey..... Still tasty, but not quite as tasty as they could be with the real thing. But I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we have an enormous ethnic/nationality variety going on, and avoiding pork is probably better for their business.
