I help non-customer SC who during the whole transaction was on another planet, being tired and such. He was also burping a lot.

I get done helping him and he says

SC: You know what, it's not a problem if someone steals my cell phone.
    Me: ...
SC: It requires a finger print swipe.
    Me: Oh....cool....

He walks away and my only thought is, "But, then your cell phone is stolen still and will probably just get dumped if they can't use it."

I specifically don't password-protect anything electronic that goes with me in my cab. If something gets stolen, I'd consider it an immediate write-off, and would use Prey to wipe it. (Of course, that requires the device to be connected to the Internet, but I believe wipes can be scheduled for "next time device is connected".)

Actually,I've found the modern mobiles make it a lot more difficult to track you down if you've left it somewhere. On an older one,you can just go into Contacts and try and find 'Home','Mum,'Illicit Mistress' and get a number to get in touch with you on.Newer ones-don't know the right buttons to press,so can't even get into it.

I read somewhere how the fingerprint sensor's been cracked already. I have a PIN lock on my phone, which bothers mom for some reason.

I would have important contacts listed under "Mom" "ICE", a nickname that only a few people know etc...but my new phone won't let me do that (even if I change the display name it soon flips back to real name...thanks Google sync and didn't I have that turned off?), only assign groups and sometimes that doesn't work right.
