  • I don't know if the dog is the smart one in the family

So I got a new job working a vet clinic. I actually heard a pet parent say this.

Tech Vet: Your dog is going to take a tablet 2x a day.
Pet Paretn: but the vet told me he takes it every 12 hours.
pet vet: *explains what is meant*

granted, 2x a day would be right if you gave a pet a pill at 4pm and 8pm, every day but most people understand that meds should be at an equal distance of time.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

    I wish porn had subtitles.

Indeed. There's a two-hour window with meds that are taken 2x per day. So you can take them at noon and then take them at 10 p. m. so you can go to bed, or take them at 2 p. m and then take them at midnight if you're on the night shift. But you don't want to try going beyond the two-hour window. Longer than that, and you wait until the next dose instead of taking them.
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

      most people understand
Not so sure about the "most" part. I think that we are a minority.

If it was taken every 12 hours...wouldnt that be 3 times a day.... once at midnight, once at noon and then next midnight? :P

I've figured out that a day is 48 hours. It is extruded at 00:00:00 on the west side of the International Date Line and ends at 23:59:59 on the east side, when the last of that day is subducted under the Line.

Where do you live where there are more than 24 hours in a day? That second midnight is not still the same day, it's the NEXT day. 11:59:59 is when the previous day ends.
Every year we have a day that has more than 24 hours in it

Two of each? At least in the calendars I see, we get one calendar day of 23 hours in spring (when DST starts) and one calendar day of 25 hours in fall (when DST ends). Where do the other two you mention come in?
