  • Pork?

We weren't allowed to sell pork products today due to the scare in Ireland. This was being explained to everyone who sat down to eat. But, as usual, there were some people who didn't quite get it. Here's just two that stood out:

Girl at table: Does this mean I can't have chicken on my pizza?
Me: *mental facepalm* No, that's ok, because chicken isn't from pigs...
The rest of her table groaned a little at her question then chuckled.

Now, for my favourite, relayed to me by a coworker:

Man: You know, if I don't really mind about the scare, could I still have ham on my pizza?

Ahh, yes, because not caring means it doesn't effect you. Very funny stuff though.

Also, my suggestion to tell people that the pigs in Ireland had 'gone a bit 28 Days Later' was rejected

Have you heard our beef has come back positive for the same thing? Only I don't think there will be a total recall since the traceability system works better for beef than pork. It's killing me anyway, I eat loads of pork products. You should see the state of the department store I work in that has a huge supermarket on the ground floor, tonnes of empty shelves, mountains of pallets of pork products out the back, and a permanent gigantor queue for refunds..

We're down to just not serving ham anymore as everything else was OK. Panic for a good while though. Think the beef is ok with us too. Phew! Can imagine there being a mess in supermarkets and such.
