Okay I am a little concerned...
I was doing my thing, ya know, working. At about midnight a guest is around the corner getting coffee, and since they are close to me I always say "hi" anyway so I do.
I hear what appears to be a grunt and that is it. Next thing I know, I recongnize the guest. He was the local guest who decided he was gonna call 911 for no reason & then tell us he doesn't want us in his room. Well, after he checked out couple weeks ago, he called 911 from the desk for NOTHING and claimed he was being followed. Class A lunatic. Guy needs to be watched in a padded room. Guess what guest it was?
I was thinking to myself, "Shit! Not this guy!" He wonders around the lobby and then sits in a chair on the far side...staring at me...staring... He sipped his coffee and stared at me.
My relief came when a taxi carring a guest arrived. Mr. Crazy seemed to be overwhelmed with the fact that other people were around and left. Thank God.
So I do my audit stuff & see that this guy's room has over $100 of rented movies alone. I think to myself, "Wanna bet he rented some of these movies by accident & will freak out in the morning over them?" I pull up his room in the movie rental system & sure enough two movies had been watched for only 2 minutes. I go ahead and delete them. One thing though, every movie this weird guy has watch is porn. One of them he watchd for 18 minutes, and we can't remove a charge if it has been watched for longer then maybe 10. Also, out of 8 porno's he's watched, only 4 of them were different. That is right, he watched a couple of the same movies more then once. Normally I could care less someone watched porn but this guy was already f-ing weird & had just been staring at me in the lobby.
I have a feeling this guy will freak out for no reason & claim his stalker is way into porn or something.
This really bothers me is because people who have certain mental illnesses and no one else with them can be dangerous to other guests. The girl who checked this guy back in was working when he checked in & she knew this guy is bonkers because she was there when he was claiming he was being followed. She was also the one who let him dial 911 from the desk for NO REASON. She is new. A nice girl but obviously not using her brain. Our manager has bitched & bitched that we have to sell to anyone who comes in the door because we are doing so badly. I told her myself that if a guy is acting strange, DO NOT give them a room. She argued that D, the manager, doesn't want us letting anyone walk away. I also suspect she had something to do with my manager calling me at home & screaming at me over the bitch from hell...because that morning she said in response to reading my note, "D says we shouldn't ever argue with the guests and that we should be getting people in at any rate."
I can't wait for the newbie to get burned by a guest & then see how she feels. I used to like her, now I am wondering cuz yeah I am all about renting to anyone who comes in the door as long as they aren't drug dealers, hookers, clearly on drugs, or if they are acting strange claiming they are being followed when no one is around them. And, I know as a fact, that D would agree: no fucking crazies.
I hope this ones bites us in the ass and teaches her a lesson about not renting to certain weirdos.

Couple ladies come to check in. They ask if the parking lot is secure because they have a great deal of things they will be leaving in their car.
The speal: Well, we have never had anything happen here before. We do, however, have signs up that say that when parking here user assumes all risks. (they look very concerned at me) We do have video cameras all around the building, and like I said, nothing has ever happened.
They look at me with great concern and one lady says, "Well, we have all of our Christmas shopping in there and just want to make sure it's safe."
My response: Well, I would reccomend covering it all up then. I mean, they even tell you to do that when you are in the WalMart parkinglot.
The Lady: Well *looks at other lady* we have nothing to cover it up with...(other lady says they will make do)
They seemed more comforted. But, honestly, what can I tell a guest? In the newspaper last month some lady had her backwindow bashed in & some thieves got away with her 2nd-hand clothing she had just gotten before & that was in the WalMart parking lot.
I really wanted to ask them what garantees there are in life that people won't be criminals? They woulda thought something less of me, no doubt.
