A girl is changing the channel in the lobby, I asked her if she wanted the remote. Her mother is on the other side of the lobby & asks her what she is doing. She says she wants to watch a movie (I guess), and comes & gets the remote & her mom seems to get agrivated with her & asks her what she is watching again. I guess she was planning on watching "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen". An older lady comes up, and I am not sure if she is related to this girl in some way or what, but she had also been in the lobby & sitting at a table.
Convo with older lady:
SC: What all can you watch on that tv (i.e. lobby tv).
Me: Everything in the rooms except the movie channels.
SC: *turns towards girl and her mom* You can't watch movies down here. (to me) See, I don't want to watch a movie but she (girl) does.
Me: Ah, yeah only the regular channels.
Mom: Yeah she tried it earlier, and she had forgotten she can't rent movies down here (Why anyone would think that, I have no idea. Older lady doesn't acknowledge what she said.)
SC: What was the last channel that was on before she (girl) changed it?
Me: Foodnetwork I believe.
SC: What channel's that?
Me: *looks on my cheat guide pasted at the desk* um it's on 50.
SC: *not even looking at me or paying attention*
Me: *looks at me for the answer* Channel 50... (I repeated)
SC: Well, what else is there because that show that was on was good but it's over since it's 10:30? Can I get one of those guides? We are from Minnesota. (What that has to do with anything, I have no idea.)
Me: uh yeah, let's see *looks in my drawer last I saw an extra one* Ah! There ya are. *lady proceeds to tv*
SC: So how do I work it? (I assumed she meant change the channel.)
Me: Well, that girl had the remote so it must be over there (by the tv) somewhere (I wanted to say..."uh...with a remote!", but I knew it would be rude.
SC: Oh...So what channel is this? How do you tell?
Me: (By chance the SciFi logo was flashed just as she was asking me that.) Well, it's the SciFi channel apparently.
SC: *tv is loud* What??!!!!!!
Me: I guess it is the Sci Fi Channel
SC: *said snotty* I don't know what that is. *and continues to ignore me some more*
You don't know how to work a tv nor what the SciFi Channel is....okay....
