a woman called the library, let's call her w.c. (hee)

wc: I need some vampire books
me: what type of vampire books?
wc: they need to be sent to Bill Branch
Me: They don't have any vmapire books?
wc: nah, they a small branch.
me: what type of vampire books you want?
    wc: you know, vampire books.
    me: fiction, non-fiction?
    wc: fiction.
    me: for children, adults, teens?
    wc: teens.
me: ok, I can send some. I need your last name and your card number.
wc: I can give my last name (*warning bells ring*), it's xxxxxx. I left my library card at the library.
me: oh, I can't send books without the number.
wc: is it on the receipt?
    me: no.
wc: well, I'll just call you back latter.

Egad, if I send books to the branch, and since books only stay on the hold shelf for 10 days, I can just imagine her showing up in 14 days (when the books she checked out are due) and say, "but where are my vampire books?"
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

    I wish porn had subtitles.

Actually, one of the books at B&N has a vegan vampire...

Of course, in that book they seem to define 'vegan' as 'non-human' as far as diet goes. But it was their word choice, not mine.

Either Teen or Vegan... sounds like Twilight
      (yes i'm a fan! muahahaha)

though if you want to go for the more traditional vampires in romance stories, i recommend checking out linda lael miller. she did about 3 awesome vampire romance books before branching into (less interesting) turn-of-the-century western romances.

I was going to suggest the Twilight books, but since there are 100+ holds on the first book and 200+ on the other books, I think she won't like having to wait a few months to get a copy.

I forgot if I told this story, but about 2 weeks ago a ditzy teen comes up to me asking for vampire books. I told her there were the Buffy books in the teen room and with much disdain she said, "I don't want teen books, they're stupid," so I suggested some books in the fiction section, which is 2 floors down. Lazy shit didn't want to go down to pick up books, though in the 800s there are some anthologies and I got one for her about vampires.

I say she is a ditz because an hour earlier I was on the first floor and her and her mom comes up asking for the 11th ed. of Encyclopedia Britannica and looking at the catalog I coudn't tell what ed. we had. I told them to go to the third floor to see the set we had. They go to the second floor and ask the same question. Shift change and I go up to 3 and they come up to me and ask the same question. *sigh*
