Customer put a nickle in the slot where the token goes

In order to exit Visitor Parking, you have to purchase a $5.00 token either from the vending machine inside the glass elevator lobby on the garage level or from the Parking office on the 3rd floor. You put the token in the slot at the exit gate, & the gate goes up.

The phone inside the booth rings, & I look up & see a car at the exit gate.

me: me
guy: guy

me: "Visitor Parking booth. How may I help you?"
guy: "Yeah...I put a nickle in the slot where the token goes & the gate will not go up."
me: "Did you purchase a token to pay for your parking?"
guy "Yeah I did"
me: "Ok, one moment please"

I grab a tweezer to try to release the nickel from the slot. I go up to the exit gate, but I could not get the nickle out. The guy apologized for what he did. At least he purchased a token. I had the clicker with me, & so I raised the gate since there was a car behind him. I went back to the booth, & got a nut picker I brought from home. That worked.

The token is the size of nickle, but not as thick.

Ok.. it is a tool used to release the nut (such as a pecan or a walnut) from the shell after cracking the shell.

You can usually find nut pickers packaged with a nut cracker in the store. You get two pickers for one cracker, in my experience.

Of course, what really messes up the equipment is if someone tries to put a Peterbilt in it (I've seen a fuel pump where someone tried that).
