I rarely have a customer that I feel warrants a post of brain burps, and I don't think I've had one at this job that would fit in the sucky customer forum. Today I had two that I think warrant being posted about.
In both of the cases the customer was not paying attention.
1. I finished with one customer, she left and I started scanning the stuff that belonged to the next customer in line. Even thought I was 12items or less and she had more then 12 I didn't say anything. About halfway through scanning her items, she tells me that what I just scanned is hers. She has me void off about three items, and things she got everything that was hers voided off. I then ask her who the about 10 items I all ready are, and she said the person in front of her
Me: *um* I really didn't know what to say.
She looks up and realizes that the person who was in front of her had all ready left and the stuff I had scanned was her, and it was her turn.
2. I was no longer an express register. I had someone in my line who had loaded up the belt. I had scanned everything that was up to the divider I had started bagging it while she kept looking through her purse for her coupons. I had finished bagging, rang through her coupons and she had paid. THEN she mentioned that the stuff after the divider is hers as well. she just wanted a subtotal of the stuff before it, and then pay together. She then gets annoyed that I can't use the 5% coupon off on the second order. I can only use the coupon once, I can't scan the same coupon again for a second order. I checked with the supervisor who was on at the moment, and she said I can't do it, it would mess up the coupons. I told her to ask the service desk the question after she paid.
