A day of unobservance it would seem.... more of that in 'Oops'. Not sucky and everything resolved by the end.
Earlier today I served two blokes. One of them orders for both and the order goes in. An important fact is that they ordered from a set menu in which there are no modifications allowed and most of it includes cheese. The menu is also very simple with only a couple of options. So the order gets there and the guy who didn't do anything of the ordering is looking nervous.
Me: Is everything OK there?
Guy: Um yeah, its just I thought this was just a vegetable pasta...I can't eat cheese.
Guy who ordered: Yeah, it said just vegetables...
Me: We don't do that I'm sorry. I'll just grab a menu.
The mistake gets sorted and I offer him a salad to replace the pasta. I go to sort it out with the manager who says, 'Yeah, no problem, just tell him to try and read next time
'.
Was nice though to actually admit that they had made a mistake.
