We have a chocolate bar that should be 50p but is currently reduced to 35p. This is a manufacturers promotion so 35p is printed in inch high yellow numbers on the packaging. In front of the sweet is a shelf tag saying 50p and a star saying "special offer now just 35p"
About 10mins ago a lad came in and brought one to the counter. The following exchange occurred:
Me: Hello, that's just 35p please
Him: How much?
Me: 35 pence
Him: It says 50p on there.
Me: Yes but they're on special offer for just 35p
Him: I've only got 50p. Anyway that's false advertising. I could get you f***ing done for that.
Me: ok, tell you what, you can have it for 50p
Him: good.
He slapped a fifty pence piece down on the counter and stormed out!
