Minor background: for our PPU (Parcel pickup) and Home Delivery Services, we require a phone number for two reasons: one is confirmation that the order is going ahead, two is in the event of any forgotten bags, non-frozen items etc. we have their contact details. We also ask for a last name for our PPU services, but those on Home Delivery have a card with their details.
Anyway, onto the brain burp of the day.
I swear I wound up serving Sard Lady from one of my previous stories and she wanted a parcel pickup. No problem until we get up to the part where I ask for a phone number. The system will not let me skip the phone number, so I ask...
"I don't give it out, it's a silent number."
Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.
My home number is a silent number and I still give it out in public to businesses. We wipe the numbers anyway once the day is done...so in the end I just put in a fake number, finished it up and sent her on her way, but made sure that whoever put away the order put the cold stuff away.
Oh and a minor funny/oddity...
Putting through a customer's groceries, I come across some Vegie Burgers. Guess what the label said?
Not Burgers
