It seems to be traditional for Koreans to choose an English name for themselves, if they travel to the West or for business purposes. This might have something to do with every other family being called Kim. 
But I heard that one of our associates, who is Korean but lives in Canada, had some passport trouble because his passport was made out in his English name, rather than his legal name. I forget whether it was actually a Canadian passport...
