Under the influence...Of stupidity!

Just a quick story, not an SC, just a stupid one. Two Hispanic men came in toward the latter part of my evening at work tonight, wandered the store, and one brought up a 6-pack of Bug Light. He looked young, so I asked for ID. He agreed, and produced his Visa paper. This alone raised my suspicions. Then, I went to type in the birth date, and it was in December of 1988-- Under 21 for another month. I told him I couldn't sell it to him, and he looked disappointed and maybe a bit confused. "No? Oh, okay." He said, and left the beer on the counter. I can't decide if was just unaware of our age laws (which I can't believe), thought he'd get away with it regardless, or was just plain stupid, but it made me chuckle and shake my head. I thought for sure his buddy would try to buy the beer for him, but, thankfully he didn't. Oh well. Just another episode in the craziness that is being a c-store clerk!
