I'm filing this under Brain Burps because they probably would have moved if I'd asked.
I prefer the self checkouts, since I never buy more than 6 items, usually 2 or 3, and it's just faster. On this occasion, I was on a desperate popcorn run (I get the BIG boxes). An employee was helping people go through the SCO, basically playing cashier for those who have no idea what to do, usually the older crowd.
Anyway, 3 of the available 4 are being used, and a pair of older women have a cart o' stuff, obviously waiting for the register with the employee to help them. They are standing right in front of an open SCO.
Like I said, they'd probably have moved if I'd asked, but someone else was nearly finished, so I just decided to wait, since there really isn't a lot of room between them.
