Our hotel has all of it's restaurant's menus on the television. Standard hotel remote, with a menu button. There's even a page on the desk in the room that serves as a welcome letter, with instructions on how to access the menu, as it isn't very self intuitive. We frequently get calls from guests asking where the menus are, or where the directory is, or how to access them on the TV.
Me: Your wonderful, always cheerful Guest Services Rep.
NSSW: Not so smart woman
Me: Guest services, how may I help you?
NSSW: Can you bring me room service menus? I don't have any.
Me: We most definitely can, but there are menus on the TV in your room, under "Guest Directory."
NSSW: Oh, great, how do I find them?
Me: *goes over the spiel, "press this, scroll here, enter here."
NSSW: Oh, ok.
Several seconds go by....
NSSW: It's not working
Me: There's a copy of the same instructions I gave you on your desk, if you would like to go over them again with me.
NSSW: No, the buttons aren't working, somethings wrong with the TV!
Me: *groan. Our TVs sometimes randomly stop working* Is the TV turning on for you?
NSSW: You mean it has to be on??!!
Seriously? She was totally baffled.
