  • what did you think that was for?

OK, so on all of our keys at the hotel there is the logo for dominoes with a picture of a pizza and a phone number. Now, most people would assume that said phone number, might you know, be for dominoes.
So want to know what the most common question I get is?
    Yup, that's right.
"What's the phone number for dominoes?"

    Seriously people.

Yup. Not just guests either. I get a lot of calls from outside lines from people asking for numbers for pizza, taxis and other hotels. Seriously? How did you even get this number? Or is there some huge portion of the population just dials a number at random and asks whoever answers to look up a number for them?

Oh I hate that. I can understand the people who call and say "sorry, we couldn't find the number for the (other hotel of same brand), do you happen to have their number?"
That I can understand... but I've had people call and ask me for the number to hotels that are in no way related to us and get upset when they find out that, beleive it or not, we don't keep all of our competitors numbers on file (there are actually two we will freely give out, one is for the company that used to own the property, even though they sold it something like 7 years ago, and the other is for a company we have an overflow agreement with).

We have the Domino's cards here, too. People think they get discounts or something and then complain when I inform them no, they don't. Domino's pays for the key cards, so they put their ads there. That's all.

Our motel name has a number in it. Another popular chain also has a number in it. We're owned by two completely different parent companies, but of course guests don't get it. Brands with numbers in the name....they must be related! So many guests come to our location to try and make reservations for the other brand down the road, and then get pissed off when I can't.

British Petroleum and Speedway Super America both sell gas.

          I won't say which I am
We often are asked why being company x, we won't take company y's rewards card, which the response well Considering one is titled AMERICA the other is BRITISH, that to me clearly states completely different entities. I honestly could understand if say I was speedway and they offered me marathon rewards card as i believe marathon OWNS speedway. but um when your a BP because asked to tkae a speedway card, that really doesn't register as logically (I know it should be logical but yeah thats how bad my head hurts when i think about it)
I'm sorry reading is not a new concept it has been widely taught in our nation for at least the past 100 years. Please, learn to do it CORRECTLY before you become contagious.

Your colors wouldn't happen to have a yellow in them? Or is that the one down the road? :P

And on our cards, we have pizza huts number, AND the hours for the weekends on it (cause people forget) and I swear, I get asked more than I want to count: "When does Pizza Hut Close?"

In my case, it was because we were listed first in the phone book and they were just too insane to move their eyes down three milimeters.

That's down the road. In the next town in fact (which makes it that much more fun when they mix us up).
