    Hair cut

    Background: I am male with long hair (tied in a ponytail for work) which I could almost sit on the end of but it had been getting a bit hard to manage and would take forever to dry when i washed it so i discussed with my collegue C on fri how i was going to get it cut shorter to make it more manageable. It is now a LOT shorter with it only coming down the middle of my shoulder blades and I've been freaking out everytime I brush my hair cos it feels ridiculously short (to me).


    So I had this conversation with C today (bear in mind this is tuesday and I was working opposite her for 4 hours today, and 9 till 5 yesterday)

    C: so i take it you didn't manage to get to the hairdressers over the weekend?
    Me: actually I did, I'm surprised you didn't notice
    C: oh, did you only get a little trim? it doesn't look like they took much off
    Me: Well there is two foot less hair attached to my head, so yeah, it was a "little" trim
    C: *turns an embarrased red colour* I guess I really shouldn't get quite so angry with my boyfriend for not noticing when I've had a haircut...

    CW: So what exactly do you do in retentions?
    Me: ummm, I ....retent stuff?

      Heeheehee that was great.

      Your hair will be much healthier now though, and your scalp will thank you! I have a cousin who gets headaches when her hair is too long because it's a lot of extra weight when it's wet.

        Wow! Two feet taken off. Quite a change for you! Did the cutter donate it somewhere? Over here we have Locks of Love using donated hair for making wigs for cancer patients.

          yeah, we can donate it here as well, though next time I doubt i'll be donating quite as much

            The problem with really really long hair is that it is hard to notice when you get it cut because people generally see it only to your shoulders especially if you put it in a ponytail a lot. My sister-in-law did something similar with her hair and it took me ages to notice.
