This incident happened Thursday.
Visitor Parking was reserved. The full sign was on, & the white sign stating Visitor Parking is closed for an event was in front of the 2 gates at the Visitor Parking booth.
I received a phone call from the Parking office several weeks ago regarding a new contract employee who would be working in Career Services. She parked in Visitor Parking that day, & Career Services gave her a token to exit. Then she got a parking permit to park in the Faculty/Staff garage.
Thursday:
She drove up to the Visitor Parking booth & told me she had to park in Visitor parking because she forgot her access card for the Faculty/Staff garage, & she would get a token at Career Services to exit. I told her that Visitor Parking was closed for an event & that I did not have any parking spots. I was about to tell her to pull up to the entrance gate to the Faculty/Staff garage & press the call box when she said "does that mean I cannot go to work today?" I said "no, you can go to work today, but you cannot park in Visitor Parking. You will have to press the call box at the Faculty/Staff entrance gate & speak to the Parking office & tell them you do not have your access card. You might be able to park in there."
She does that, & she is able to park in there.
