  • Yet Another Clerks Moment! (language)

Jeez. The lack of stories I have as of late is really making me worried for the fall season now. The only one I have from recent events is more of a story for this board than for the Sucky Customers board. And yeah...

T took the weekend off last week, leaving me in charge of her door again. Oh, well. The last few times I had to cover her shift as of late, the crowd's been amazingly cooperative, as were the band members I've dealt with. I'm even starting to become a bit of a fan of one of the bands that's been playing a lot more here recently. (Okay, maybe just the singer of the band, but she's cute and she can scream like Otep wishes she could-- enough outta me.)

Saturday was almost uneventful. Write the set list on the board by the register (this is gonna come into play in a moment), get my register ready, break up some wristbands to label the adults, the usual stuff. You can almost sense what's coming, can't you?

Me: Well, it was fun and relaxing while it lasted!
SC: Stupid Customer. Possibly illiterate and blind, too.

(SC walks up to my door and stares at the sign next to me for a good two or three minutes. The beer in his hand is a warning sign right off the bat. Eventually, this is the first thing out of his mouth.)
SC: What you got going on tonight?
Me: Live music. The band that's about to go on next, you gotta check 'em out. The singer's this short girl, and she's not only hot, but you should hear the vocals she puts out.
SC: What's the name of it?
(Alyssa Milano and the Stolen Blouses. Look at the freakin' board, you moron!)
    Me: MM.
SC: What time do they go on?
(Oh, fuck no. You did not just ask me that question.)
Me: They're... setting up right now.
SC: And how much is it to go upstairs?
    Me: Five bucks.
(Which I'm sure translated into 'two bottles of Budweiser and a $1 tip' to this guy. Another long pause... then he walks away.)
    Me:

As a side note, I'm now looking for a second job that's a little less stressful. I'm thinking of becoming a human bulletproof vest target at this point...
My other car is a Mackinaw.
Working...
