Customer inserted a token into the meter

I got a call from "Missy" at the parking office this morning regarding a customer who purchased 2 tokens & parked at the metered lot across the street. The customer would be parking at Visitor parking instead.

When the customer arrived she told me...

• she bought 2 tokens
• she inserted one of the tokens into the meter
• the meter would not give back her token
• she only has one token left
• she wished the parking office would have told her not to do that after buying the tokens

She asked me where she inserts her token at to exit, & I told her she inserts it at the exit gate.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and ASSUME that the parking office has a sign to the effect of "Garage Exit tokens: $5 each" or whatever. But either way, what an idiot.

I'm reminded of the scene from Hot Shots where the admiral comments on how noisy the planes are, is handed a pair of ear plugs, and downs them like tablets after being told they're "for the noise."
