  • Who's "They"?

title says it all. . . discuss

K I'll elaborate. Nothing urks me more than when a SC uses the "They" excuse. Such as. . . "They said it would be cheaper'" "They said it would be this?" and so on.

I had that happen a few nights ago with a SC. This kid walks in holding his receipt (obvious sign typically there's a problem to arise) to the autocenter. He says he is having an issue with the tires he bought. We go out to his car and sure enough the front tires he bought a few months ago are badly worn on the edge, so bad the steel belt is starting to show.

So I look at his receipt and it shows that we had suggested an alignment and he declined, sure enough that's the reason the tires wore they way they did. I explain to him that well there is nothing we can do as a warranty compensation or so on. That doesn't make him happy. . . of course.

I explain that the tires wore cause his alignment was out and that's why his tires have worn the way it did. He goes off on this rant bout how "They said I didn't need an alignment!" which to I respond "Who's they?" To shut him up politely I show him on his receipt how it was suggested that he have an alignment service done and how he declined. But he doesn't get it and keeps goin "They said! They said!" to which I keep asking "who is this 'they' you refer' to? Was it the sales person? the mechanic?' Tell me who is this 'They' you are pissed off at"

The kid gets in his car and drives off saying how he will be back and how I don't know what I am talking bout, I guess cause "They" do

Whomever these 'They' people are, 'THEY' do make some days

Don't you know who "they" are? It's "them." It's always "them."

I always love when someone tries using "your Boss" instead of just "they"...

The ones that go farther than these really get me, when a SC uses a co-workers name saying they had promised them a lower price/discount or something for free which is impossible being I would have been made aware of it let alone a manager plus the cw would have already done such on the work order tickets, like a price deduction/discount. Always happens after the cw has left for the day, few times the cw was there and called them out lol

Whenever they do that I just tell them that they would need to bring it up with the cw who helped them.
