  • Super Double Brain Burp

As I made my way to an errand across town, I was thinking about a recent tragedy in town that involved a driver, a cell phone, and a fatality. Realizing that work could call me at any time (being the first of the month, the day had been...special...all morning), I reached into my purse and put on my Bluetooth headset.

I felt pretty smart with my headset on, until I got to where I was going. As I was waiting, I reached for my phone. I checked my pocket and my purse, and realized I left my cell phone at the office.

    Make it a double

So I made it back to the office, and looked for my phone, and it wasn't there, and it was in my purse the whole time. It was hiding beneath my day planner.

    Bonus

I forgot to check the mileage for my expense report, so I grabbed my keys and ran out to my car to check my trip, only when I got out there I realized I grabbed my work keys instead of my car keys. (In my defense, they both have motel key cards and similar Kalan keychains.)

    EDIT: Another one to add

Okay, it is not my day! I closed my expense report file, and realized that I needed to actually print it out to turn it in to get my money, so I reopened it and printed it, and I when I pulled it off the printer there were two. Meaning that I printed it, closed it, and then forgot I'd printed it in the first place.

And I still have an hour and a half left of this shift...

        I've had days like that.

Wow. Hugs, since I've been there, but not had one of those in a while. *knock on wood*

Time to start acting* like an SC. Since you printed out two expense reports, you should get paid for both of them.

I've been getting a worryingly increasing amount of these incidents these days. Coupled with some general, yet temporary memory lapses, and I'm starting to see the benefit of that new Alzheimer's clinic that opened up down the road from me

                  Do puzzle games.

Most people don't think about it, but you need to exercise your brain, and regular mental exercise will make mental activities easier, and keep your brain in shape for longer.

My mom calls it "Practicing Alzheimer's."

Of course, there are times when it rubs off on me . . . .such as a couple of weeks ago when I was getting my coffee maker set up for the next morning (mine doesn't have a timer so I have to manually turn it on when I get up.)

I remember putting the water in, I remembered putting in the filter, but then I must have had one of my BIL's ADD moments (as in AD . . . oh look, butterfly) and got distracted putting away the dishes that had been done and flipping through the channels on the tv to see if anything else good was on.

Next morning, I ended up with a pot of hot water. Had to pour it out and start all over again.

Luckily for me, nobody else was up at the time.

Or the other morning when I was leaving out for work. Mom had already went down to the car in her chair, I was following. Got into the car and started looking inside my purse for my cigarette case.

Cue me having to run back into the house. They were right where I left them in the kitchen on top of the case where we keep the canned stuff. And I had just passed by there not 30 seconds earlier and grabbed my cell phone off the table, but for some reason my arm didn't reach back a few inches and grab my smokes.
