Putting this here because what suck there was, wasn't intentional. Well, mostly.
I was shopping tonight. Intended to go to the bulls-eye but made a brain burp of my own and turned right where I should have turned left, so I wound up at the supermarket instead. Oh well, that little mistake is gonna cost me $3 (house brand formula is $16 at the bulls-eye, $19 at the supermarket), but I'm not going to turn around and go back tonight. (Got a little less than an hour sleep last night, so wasn't thinking straight; will post Sightings thread about that if I'm awake enough.)
As I'm wandering the aisles with my cart, listening to the rain pounding on the roof (thunderbolts and lightning, very very fright'ning, eek!) I see an early-teenage girl riding around on the electric cart, with a mound of groceries piled in and around the basket. She doesn't look like she needs it, but there's nobody else in the store at the moment who needs it more, so I mentally shrugged and got on with my shopping.
I get to the checkout. It's almost closing, there's only one lane open, SCO is shut. This lady and her daughter, the tweenager I'd seen earlier (who's now on her feet with no sign of disability), were just getting finished. Their groceries are all bagged, filling up pretty much the whole wagon, and I see her fumbling around in her purse, her daughter doing the same in her wallet, etc.
Turns out she's forgotten her credit card.
She had some cash with her, but not enough. So she apologized profusely (which is why this wasn't in SC), abandoned the whole wagon and left with her daughter.
I felt sorry for her, yes, but I felt sorrier for the employees who are now going to have to reshelve $241.00 worth of merchandise five minutes before closing.
